Developing an Online Encyclopedia of World Dance

A 'Garland' for Dance

Dance Heritage Coalition wants to develop a counterpart 
to the Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online

This resource would not replace the A-to-Z International Encyclopedia of Dance (Oxford UP). Instead, its organization by region would discover dance where it occurs, with the preference for treating contemporary practice and performance with historical background provided as needed or linked to existing digital resources like the International Encyclopedia of Dance. Additionally, thematic or issue-focused articles are intended in the scope.
