Last night I spoke to a group of arts education interns at UC Berkeley, and I shared with them one of the wonderful, extensive documents from the Performing Arts Workshop in San Francisco.
On its website, The Workshop has made available two of its publications for download:
- The Workshop Out of School
- Lessons from the Workshop: A Guide to Best Practices in Performing Arts Education
For Prek-12 arts educators working in after school settings and as artists in residence, these two documents are valuable, free resources now made easily access on the web. The documents include teaching strategies, sample lessons, and more.
Performing Arts Workshop is a longstanding nonprofit arts organization based in San Francisco, CA. We all can learn from their extensive experience and the thousands of students they have worked with over the decades.
Thank you, Perofrming Arts Workshop, for free access to this information and for supporting teaching artists around the country!
